Brektonya is located deep in the Forest Shade Mountains. It is near impossible to locate the city for one reason, it is built underneath a mountain. The outer walls of the city are the mountain cliffs. Impenetrable from the outside is an understatement. The defense of this city unmatched, and even if the walls were some how breached, there are numerous of secondary defenses. Never has the safety of Brektonya been in jeopardy. Their wealth is also very strong. Countless mines extend from the city. They extract Gold, Silver, Bronze, Coal, Iron, Diamonds, Emeralds, Sapphires, Rubies, Amber, and even Mythril.
However, Brektonya only has this resource, not because they cannot make another one, but by their own choosing. It is primarily a Dwarf controlled city, hence the priority of mines. Many other races live within the city, including a race of dark elves known as Drow. It is said Rico Nox III of Harborion Port is half Drow which explains his sadistic outlook on the world and his greed. See the Drow of Brektonya are unbearably greedy but understand the balance of greed and a stable defended society. To explain, there was a time the dark elves wanted to take the city as their own prize, however the thought the city divided into civil war posed such a horrible idea the plot was abandoned at once. If civil war was created between the drow and the dwarves of Brektonya, the city would likely be taken by an outside force such as Queen Morlena (who thankfully for now still knows not of the location of Brektonya), then neither the two would control the wealth of the mountain. However, the drow of Brektonya still have the thirst of greed and have never forgotten the plot in case the day came it would benefit them to unleash it.
The dwarves themselves take up 70% of the city population. They are all required to do mining work for at least three years before taking on a new occupation. This does not bother them, in fact most stay in the mines and just try to move up the ranks of the mine.
Because their only self created resource is mining they import most of their supplies from Lakora, their closest neighbor, with the exception of anything a smithy could craft. On top of being the most reliable metal crafters, Brektonya is responsible for creating the currency of all of Mayameros. A silver piece is worth 100 bronze. A gold piece is worth 10 silver. A mythril piece is worth 1,000 gold. It is also thanks to them the first primarily steamed vessel, The S.S. Spaded Ace, the newly engineered Wild Card Flag Ship was crafted.
Because Brektonya is primarily a mining and smithy city, they have to import other goods such a lumber, fabrics and, of course, food. They do this by non currency based trading with Lakora only. Lakora gives them food, fabrics and lumbers, in exchange Brektonya trades them gems, metal tools, weapons, and armor. They also only release fresh currency coins to the Lake Side Bank in Lakora. If there are any city alliances, Lakora and Brektonya would be the one. However, both cities understand their alliance strictly business based, which means Brektonya will never aid Lakora if the lake city is under siege.
Brektonya’s greatest weakness is their lack of presence in Mayameros. Most of their citizens do not leave the inside of the mountain. The only ones that do are the few trading groups that go to Lakora and back. They have taken the idea that they are not to interfere with the outside world, just as the outside world is to not interfere with them.
