There is of course the normal mythology of the gods and their stories however there are "curiosities" that have been sited.
One is of the Swampy Marshes surrounding the southern boarder of Mortumlovia, where Queen Morlena dumps the dying failed experiments to her need for immortal youth. There is often cries and gasps heard, but no on enters the Marshes during the full moon. It is then, for the entire night as the moon shines on the misty marshes, the dead survive again. She found this out after a couple of goblins went to drop off some dying "failures" and they returned late. Suddenly a roaring scream of thousands of voices rang out in the night. When she sent out a couple solders to see what was happening, the scream happened again. One of the soldier's helments was found the next day emptied within the bodies. The full moon is a frightening time for the city, so the gates close and lock shut at dusk and three cannons are pointed at each swamp pool at all times during the night. It has been this way for months.
The second is of The Shrouds. Three cloaked figures walk the trails of Mayameros going no where and everywhere. In most cases they cause no trouble, but if they are ever attacked what they truly are is shown. They are empty cloaks, possessed by three people (one female human, one sheelf and one female halfelf) that were failed experiments of Mortumlovia's Haunted Marshes. Before death as they lay with the dead and dying in the salty marshes, the three women's souls were forced to latch onto a cloak each for some reason that is to this day unknown. When they are threatened or attacked, they strike by consuming their victims through the hood of the cloak. When they take the entire body into the opening of the hood, the person becomes trapped in an endless abyss of torture and suffering until finally after what will feel like 100 years they die. This will all happen in mere second's time and when they fall dead the Shrouds open their cloaks and throw them to the ground. They cannot be killed unless all of their cloak is destroyed. They can be "worn" as cloak with no trouble if they chose it. They constantly feel pain and every time they speak it, it is telepathic and sounds as if they are gasping for breath. They attempt to tell all that they cross paths with not to attack them, but sometimes thieves or mercenaries or assassins don't stop. Once their destructive side is triggered they lose whatever control they once had over themselves and kill anyone who is near by. They hate themselves for every death they have caused.
In the mountains near the swamps there are many threats like wolves and bears and such, but also very territorial creatures call Displacer Beats. These black six legged panthers are very merciless and kill without warning. Two tenticals are latched to their back which allows an even more easy kill of their prey. The swamps too are dangerous thanks to them and the vamperic trees. These trees are few and far between but for some unknown reason their branches strike any living thing that is near and burry it dead or alive in the soil near their roots. Under the ground their roots pierce the flesh and drain the victim's blood for food.
Also in the mountains there are tunnels and caves and mines of all kinds but some lead to a death of a fiery rage. The last of the dragons, only six or seven remaining, hide with their gold and treasures under the safety of rocky mountains awaiting the day they die. Since weapon engineering has advanced, the dragons have been attacked and are nearly extinct thanks to ballistas and cannons. They speak still common language (english) with ease but anyone caught in their treasure cave is killed at once.
There is only final folklore located in the plains near the canyon Skyrita is located upon. The river is guarded by a spirit the last river guardian that speaks to mortal left. She is kind and caring but feels trapped in the river. So she promises anyone who can bring her a bowl of water from the Lake Lakora and pour it into her river she will grant them one wish. The story goes that Lake Lakora was once connected to her river but mountains made a natural dam to stop the flow. Now she feels cut off from her magestic lake and anyone who brings water of it to her helps her remember how wonderful it appeared to be. She returns their kindness with a single wish of anything they'd like within the rules that the wish is selfless.
