Brief Character Back Story Written in Post Form (10-30 sentences) :
The world of Mayameros will fall, only too soon shall I have the power.
Blinded by her lust for power, the ruling queen of Mortumlovia stared at her darkened city. The age was changing, it wasn't hard to see. The game was different, siege and invasions just wouldn't cut it anymore. Lakora's defense was solid to that. Ballistas didn't have the range. Cannons did though. Lakora would have know that stand no chance of fighting back. The queen would have to hold the city ransome, and that wouldn't be hard with the cannons. Each of her cannons fired a giant bolt, five yards in size each. It would fly upwards and on the way down it would split into a total of five bolts the same size. Each one would be packed high with explosives and on impact would errupt into a destructive explosion of greek fire. Water would only make the flames burn faster and fiercer. Three hundred cannons were already complete, but for such a city, twenty would do.
Skyrita would pose more a threat but not that much more. They would rush the 30,000 citizens and the 50,000 who owed allegiance to the city into an evacuation run all the way to the center stone. A forth wouldn't make it alive. Once there blockading them would be easy, and if the center stone was surrounded by 100 cannons the walls would shatter easily. After that, the citizens would have no choice but surrender or they would be slaughtered.
Harborion Port was a much stronger threat. Occupying the city by siege wouldn't be too difficult, but then again, that's not the issue. Harborion Port is controlled by the trade companies. The Shadow Racing Three control the most power. One of the companies in the Shadow Race, EWTC, is her own. So she's told she is in second place but not by much. Her and Rico Nox III have been neck and neck for quite some over the control of the trade. Now Wild Card brings in the first steam and coal engined vessel that is a giant to any of their own. Because Harborion Port is so chaotically controlled, in practical to just invade is a mere understatement. The other two, Lakora and Skyrita, at least have a system of complete control and order within their city, but because there is not that issue in Harborion Port if an invasion wasn't all at once successful, consequences could be extreme.
Harborion Port after all, is a dog eat dog world. The trading companies that wouldn't be destroyed wouldn't care about the ones who are and therefore won't come to their aid. They will make their own asses are safe.
True enough it was. And if the invasion left survivors they would at least warn other cities in such a way that her control attempts would be worthless.
All of Mayameros, for an eternity or none of it for anyone!
A scary way to think about it, especially because the location of Brektonya was still unknown to her. And the Lakorans wouldn't give it up. Too noble they were.
And of course there is still the issue of immortality.
Her blacken irised eyes peered to the marshes near the city. As usual, the full moon's light shinned on the day their trapped souls screamed and moaned the loudest.
"A pity, they should feel honored to serve their queen."
She turned to leave balcony of her tower, her wings twitching in annoyance as she did so.
"Page!" She commanded.
"Y-y-yes your majesty?" A small goblin asked softly as she entered her room.
"What news on those maddened scientists latest experiments?"
"Ohh...they think the one where y-y-y-you will raise the dead marsh corpses for annn army will be d-d-d-d-done ssssssoon...."
"What good is ruling the world if you cannot rule it forever?! I don't care about the army, page! I care about the my immortality of youth! What news on those experiments!!!"
The page ducked his head frightened.
"Th-they can't d-d-do it-t-t..."
"AND WHY NOT?!?!?!?!"
"R-r-r-robyn Hooooood st-st-st-stole th-the capt-t-tured uni-nicorn herd and re-released them...."
"THAT DAMN OUTLAW!!! CAPTAIN!!!"
A tall man who was very strongly built and wore thick armor stepped into the room.
"HOW LONG UNTIL YOUR MEN CAPTURE THAT WITCH WHO IS STEALING ALL MY PROPERTY?!?!"
"Well your majesty...she is very cunning...she and her friends kill most of the forty men trap we sent. The rest...retreated."
"INCOMPETENT FOOLS!!! HAVE ANY ASSASSINS TAKE THE PRICE?!?!"
"No your majesty...not yet...not since the amature bounty hunter was sent fleeing from the woods."
"SHE HAS TOO MUCH POWER IN THOSE WOODS!! WHY DON'T YOU JUST BURN THEM DOWN?!?!?!"
"Might I respectfully remind the queen that such an action would make all of the cities aware of your plans and Rico Nox III would turn them against you?"
She growled a hissing growl.
"RAISE THE ALIVE PRICE 1,000 MYTHRIL AND THE DEAD PRICE TO HALF THAT!"
"Yes your majesty. Anything else I can do to serve you my queen?"
"Yes! How do tunnels go?"
"A head of schedule to the center stone, the diggers have been pulling double the work time expected."
"And Brektonya?"
"They have not located the underground city yet, my lady."
"DAMN THOSE DWARVES! SELFISHLY HIDING THEIR TREASURE SO COWARDLY!!"
"However we have made contact with the drows in the city."
The queen's eyes grew wide with excitement.
"AND THE RUMORS?!"
"All true. We have sent three of their leaders here for negotiations. They will begin at your command, my queen."
"This is good news! Thank you captain. Go and make work to raise the price."
"As you wish, my queen."
He left. She laughed.
"Page!"
"Y-y-yes my queen?" The goblin asked.
"Tell the scientists to work primarily on the marsh army experiments until the unicorns can be returned for their blood sacrifice. Tell them they have 6 months."
"Y-y-y-yes my lady."
Perfect. If the drow create civil war in Brektonya, at the promise of treasure then I will control Brektonya by their means. And once the scientists complete my necro army, even Harborion Port won't stand a chance to the might of an undead army as well as the cannons. I almost have it. It's almost mine!
"MAYAMEROS WILL BOW TO IT'S ETERNAL RULER SOON!! NONE WILL STOP ME THEN!!! NONE!!!!"
